History
Café Bona Fe is the result of the great work carried out by the coffee growers of the department of Norte de Santander Colombia who through careful processing of coffee in all its phases, manage to obtain an Excelso or export type bean endorsed by specialty coffee certifications. As Rainforest Allianceand 4C license, which guarantees that Café Bona Fe is a high quality product with a pleasant aroma and a delicious Colombian flavor. Coffee farming in this region of Colombia is made up of about 17,869 coffee growers in 19,959 farms inhabited by small producers whose cultivated coffee area is from 0.5 to 3.0 hectares in a very high percentage, which benefits their families, thus improving conditions social of this region of Colombia.
The history saids that 200 years ago, in the Santanderean North, municipality of Salazar de la Palmas, the Jesuit priest Francisco Romero imposed an original penance on all the parishioners who he heard in confession. Instead of Hail Marys and Our Fathers, the priest ordered them toplant coffee plants. This is how the first productions of coffee were produced and later the first export of the precious grain to the neighboring country of Venezuela.
